Meet the Owner: Alan Barra

I am Alan Barra, and for 25 years I have dedicated my life to the craft of fine woodworking and cabinetry. I founded Barra's Cabinets on a commitment to precision, craftsmanship, and timeless design, personally guiding each project from concept to completion.


My career began in furniture refinishing and evolved into custom cabinetry. I then landed a job with a cabinet refinishing company, where I developed the techniques and finishing methods that continue to define the quality of my work today. After leaving this job, I used my experience to start my own cabinet refinishing business. That foundation still influences every project, especially when it comes to achieving clean lines, smooth finishes, and lasting durability.


As my vision evolved, so did the business. Barra's Cabinets expanded into full custom cabinetry, refined cabinet refacing, and complete cabinet transformations. While custom cabinetry is now a primary focus, I continue to offer refinishing and refacing for homeowners who want to update their space while preserving what already works.


As a husband and father, my family inspires everything I do. I bring the same care, patience, and attention to detail to my work that I bring to our home. When I am not in the workshop, I enjoy spending time with my family and exploring local design inspiration that helps shape each new project.
